This is what their website says: "We reduced the compression ratio from 11,3:1 to 9,7:1 to leave space for more turbo boost pressure and this was achieved by installing thicker and much stronger headgaskets."

.......you are correct. Cost might be an issue. As someone who just finished rebuilding an engine for forced induction(including pistons), I can tell you that it can become cost prohibitive especially if Kleemann wants to mass produce this in the future.

Actually, we have a twin screw kompressor kit we are looking at building..

Stage 1: Low boost 5.5psi

Stage 2: Forged bottom end w/ 11psi.
