Brake Pads, Need Help!

I have a 2004 E55 and i wanted to change the brake pads on it. I narrowed down the search to Porterfield, Pagid and Axxis Ceramic Pads. My preference is Axxis Ceramic Pads and I can't seem to find it anywhere. R1Concepts.com said they have upto 2002 or newer than 2006 but no 2004 pads and that seems to be the story with most other distributors I've checked with. Any suggestions/links would be much appreciated.

Also, both Porterfield's and Pagid are near or above $400 for the 2004...for brake pads...I've never see pads for those prices???

If you're in SO CAL already, just go to Porterfield. They are in Costa Mesa. I've bought pads from them before for my other MBs and they were very helpful.

Don't these guys have problems with the brake sensors working with their products though?

That's what i've heard about the porterfield's. You have to leave the brake sensor disconnected, because the pads do not have the sensor port.

I rigged my sensors. It has the hole for the little dip, but nothing to hold the hardware.

I'm running the Porterfields and the response time and dig are EXCELLENT. No more noise than OEM, yet. They really grab. I also just put on the EVOSport front rotors, so I'm sure some of it is from that. The turn in is really different now.

+1 on Jangy's assessment. Whatever you get make sure the bedding in procedure is done properly. Good luck.

Thanks to all for your feed back. I've had a preferance for Axxis. Friends of mine who race strongly recommended the Axxis as a good, low dust, no noise, great breaking pad. I'd prefer not to deal with the porterfield sensor issue, and I've heard the Pagid's give off alot of dust. Would anyone know where i can purchase the Axxis ceramic's? I've looked everywhere and I can't find the 8 piston, w211 2003-2005 setup.
