As much as I like the E63 wagon, there's no way it'd pull on a well driven M5 Touring like it in that video. The guy in the E60 needs to learn how to drive.
They'd then be neck and neck which every reasonable AMG or M-car enthusiast knows they are. The 63 has the edge low down, the M5 up top but two closer matched cars do not exist.

Again i believe the brain washing plays to much of a roll here. non of the mags have stated the M to be faster up top, which then leads me to go to your next source (do not think i need to mention
). I personly have not raced any (have you?) but have come across a few who did not want to attempt and other brands who have raced them n commented that the Amg performed better against them. Will reserve final judgment till i meet a few (who knows might be true)

I have extensive time behind the wheel of the E60 M5 and it pulls like a freight train upwards of 100mph. Maybe even faster than my 996TT. The ultra free revving nature of the engine and gearing are the main reasons for this. Now that is not to say it is not close. My first post stated that there was nigh on no difference between the AMG and M.

The M5 has been run to a drag limited 204mph- no stock E55 or 63 is going to match that.

My argument is many people claim things when they have not tested them side by side or driven both.

Correctly geared the E will not be caught. 3.02 gearing in E63 would be the ticket! vmax in 6th would be 207mph at 6800. Again, and I keep saying, the friggin E63 has been screwed up from being a world beater by the gearing ...
Matched power and similar gearing with much better Cd = faster ...
