Looking for an e55, need advice

New to the forum. I'm looking for an e55 and need some advice from you fellow boardmembers.

What's a good year for e55? Are there troublesome years? I'm looking at models 2003 and up.
Any must have options?
Anything to beware of with the e55?
Lastly, are e55s reliable? Will they last past 100k miles?

Thanks in advance!

Most would say go to '04 or as late model as you can afford.

Options are personal choice, I wouldn't be without the pano roof but it adds almost 200 pounds so others wouldn't take a car with it. Generally, options help when it's selling time.

The intercooler pump is always a problem. It's a $300 one time (usually) fix.

So far the engine appears to be very reliable.

Do a search and you'll find a million other people answering this same question.

I'd go for a car that still has warranty on it.

As far as reliability, there are a few cars for sale in Germany that have over 200,000 km on them.
