My name is Max and I own a 2007 E63 as well as a 2006 E55...what can i say I just cant get enough of the AMG E Class
. Anyway both cars are stock for the most part, but I would like to start modding. I am looking to start off with doing rims and exhausts...what does everyone think of HRE Rims and Remus Exhausts??

HRE wheels are excellent wheels. I have a set of the 19" 547R and the Remus Sport Exhaust on my F360. Absolutely no drone or resonance and the F1 scream at WOT.

Nice cars........... ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
HREs are excellent: they are light weight and good quality build. As for Remus, I too don't have experience with it. However, there were a couple of videos/sound clips of Remus exhaust in the C32 section of the forum, so you maybe want to check that out![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Oh, and pictures, pictures, pictures........

I am lost on the appearance modding so I defer to the other guys, but for performace modding, exhaust is gonna make her sound real nice, but not much power increase.
Gonna sound incredible though!!!!!
Welcome aboard.
ECU should be your next mod after the exhaust. Then we'll work on headers, pulleys, TB, cams......

Oh my goodness, I just noticed your location!! You are literally 5 mins away from the US headquarters of Kleemann USA.
You gotta at least call Cory up and take a drive down to the building to see what they are working on. Just the BEST guys to talk to and they have lots of AMG mods for you to check out.
Heck, they also have a dyno on site for ya (gotta buy mods to use it of course)
Man did you luck out!

Welcome!
HRE's are nice looking, but they're not particularly light or strong, especially at the 19" and above diameters. Consider HRE for appearance and exclusivity only, not for performance or weight. I've had to replace three rim halves on my HREs because they bend fairly easy. They're are numerous custom wheel choices out there, just be sure you know why you're buying HRE's, and weight savings should not be your primary consideration.
As a comparison, for example, 19" BBS LMs weigh about 5 lbs. less per corner, and the 19" BBS RS-GTs weigh about 8 lbs. less per corner than 19" HREs, and are stronger as well. The 19" HRE 547's weigh about the same as the stock cast 18" twin spoke AMG wheels, and that's not exactly a great weight endorsement.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys
. I was led to Remus and HRE because my son has a Remus Dual Exhaust as well as HRE Rims on his M3 coupe. I am definately open to other suggestions if they are better suited for the E Class.
Sorry to sound like a total noob, but what exactly are the benefits of headers and an LSD? For that matter what exactly IS a header or an LSD?
Do any other members want to set a date to meet up at Kleeman and do lunch, an impromptu meet of some sort ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Both my AMG's are black on black and I will post some pics as soon as I can get my son to take some for me![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)

Hi Matt, I didn't know you were on here. I just picked up an HD camcorder with excellent sound capabilities. I will post some sound bites of my F360. I am going to delete the resonator off my E55 and I'll post that too. I wonder if that will cause any drone or resonance in the E55?
