It's hard to believe that the 63's have gone from a slow replacement for the 55's to almost match their best times. Boy we have come a long way in less than a year.

LOL, Johnny is always hating on the 63
Johnny, he never said the E63 ran as fast as the fastest E55 has ever gone. All he said was that now the stock E63 results are a lot closer that they show up on the first page with the E55 stock times.
Remember, this was oldgixxer's first time while Enzom is the king of E55 drag racing. Also Enzom's car is not 100% stock. He is running Michellin PS2 and in slightly wider size. I call it 98% stock
I think with some practice and definately better tires (maybe Perellis or Michellin PS2), Oldgixxer should be able to run 11.9x and maybe even high 11.8s. This would put the E63 about 0.1 to 0.2 seconds slower than the E55 in 1/4 mile, which is exactly what AMG "officially" claimed in the AMGFEST06 And that is no where near the "E63 is a second-and-a-half slower than the E55" statement

Juicee63 will ALWAYS be King Of 63's as far as I'm(as many others agree I'm sure) concerned
Hardware's E55(stock as far as I know) ran a best that day of "12.006 at 116ish 1.79 60 ft time",so track prep was to his advantage,not the 63 which had a best short time of 1.84.
So that theory kinda goes out the window...
Enzom's E55 is phenomenally quick at 11.77&118mph,but 12.12@117 ain't that far from 12.00@116ish.
60' times dictate how hard the car launches&puts torque down to the tires to get the car moving off the line initially;but a higher terminal mph equates how much horsepower the engine is making once it's rolling;and picking up 25mph in the back half is pretty frickin good if you ask me
So the E55 hooked better on his best pass then my car hooked,but yet I still matched&bested(by a small margin) the E55's trap speed
So it's safe to say DA&track prep helped,but helped for ALL cars not just the 63's.
And I'm hoping with some new PS2's and 55 gallons of VHT on the concrete I should be good for an 11.99 this spring

When I ran the comparison on dragtimes.com, the E63 or the CLS63 don't appear until page 6. I guess you were talking stock E55 VS all E63's & CLS 63's?

Common Johnny, you know that Contis are crap. Even Enzom would have a hard time breaking 11.9 on contis consistently.
Oldgixxer got 12.1 on contis with 1.85 60' time. With PS2, he can drop that 1.85 to maybe 1.75 at least. That 0.1 drop in the 60' time should hopefully translate to 0.2 off E.T. and put Oldgixxer's E63 in the high 11s

However my conti's were sport contact 2 while the E63 comes with sport contact 3, which I'm not sure how better they are compared to the old ones
