See!! Another silent "head mod" guy. Who the heck got the heads done and hasn't said a word on how they perform??

Interesting;
obviously some of these mods came from Mbworld sponsors who frequent this message board. Maybe someone can chime in and prompt this silent gear head to chime in

Looks like a nice setup, except the slotted rotors...stay away from those. They eat pads like candy.

Actually, it all depends on your pad compound but a properly set up slotted rotor should not eat the pads.

One big advantage to slotted rotors is that the rotors are not subject to uneven wear like their cross drilled counterparts and are much harder to crack under high thermal loads.

I have had cross-drilled rotors on several cars over the years, and haven't noticed anything abnormal at all. No excessive wear. In fact, I managed to get a sweet deal online for a set of silver-arrow cross-drilled rotors for my 129 SL600, and I have about 19k on the brakes since then and have had no problems.

I had slotted rotors on my porsche for a bit, because someone got it in my head that they reduce glazing and improve performance. I replaced the pads twice in +/-20k miles because of wear/squealing. The second time, I switched over to cross-drilled brembo big reds without the slotting, and then it was back to the normal wear routine.

I suppose it could have been any number of things, including the pads I was using, and I am definitely comparing apples to oranges since it was two totally different vehicles, but I still think the slotting had something to do with it.

i've just always heard the x-drilled rotors had the cheese grater effect on the pads, and that slotted were better for daily driving for pads over the x-drilled

Nothing in particular, I just thought I recognized some and found it interesting that the list did not mention them. Also, there were a few on there that they claim to carry, so maybe they have something?

That car belongs to a forum user but hes been out of here for a while.

Hes a friends brother from the SB area.

His car runs pretty freaking hard.

Sweet!! Do you know where all the parts came from? Are they originals, or does the ad just not give credit to all the tuners?
