Aghhhhhh I continue to debate purchasing another E55 or wait for the C63. I had an E55 which I loved. The torque and straight line performance was fun, especially modded out with a Kleeman k4 set-up.

However, the more I read about the C63 the more I am intrigued. Could the 63 possibly be all they promise? That is to say, an e55 fast sedan with the ability to actually handle the twisty's? Alas, what should I do?

One more thing to factor in...even with the big price drop in the 55's it still costs major $$$ to mod it up which is further confounding my decision.

 

Understand the 55 blown motors and the 63 n/a motors are, of course, very very different. The 55's have immediate power, tons of low end which makes them more fun to drive around town and blast stoplight to stoplight. The 63 motors are equally as fun....but in a different way. You have to have them spun up pretty good to get into the powerband.
The C63 platform will be very very fun and should handle awesome. Also, it will have the new 7 Gtronic PLUS tranny which will match revs on downshifts and blip the throttle. It will be the same torque converted tranny that is in most of the current 63's - the software will just be different.
The are both great cars, but they are very different beasts.
