E55/E63 Owners with Aftermarket wheels that have HUB RINGS, gotta question?
I posted prior about my snow tire package I purchased form the Tire Rack. They sent me MSW 12 wheels with Dunlop tires. The MSW wheels came with flimsy plastic Hub Centric rings. Now I bolted them on myself at my house and the wheels just did not fit on my hubs at all. I had to force them on and use the lugs to hold the rim in place while i torqued them. Well what happens is that the plastic wears itself out over the hub. The Plastic Hub rings were 66MM Inside bore and wore out to fit over the actual bore.
So after I got fed up with the vibration I had two shops check the car and they both told me the problem is the hub rings are loose.
Tire Rack overnight ships me aluminum rings, again 66MM inside bore with a 73MM outside bore.
So this time around I took this into my own liberty to take measurements.
The aluminum rings are a true 65.88MM bore.
My 2007 E63 has a larger bore.
On the Rear hubs of my E63 the bore measures with a Caliper, note the hubs were clean, no corrosion, i got a measurment of 66.78MM. I measured the OEM rims and got about the same.
On my front hubs there is a step lip. The hub seems to start at a true 66 then 3/4 way it jumps up to 66.78.
So i want to know has anyone measured their hubs or is my car the odd ball of the bunch? I am having a local CNC shop make me custom rings I gave them the OEM wheel and they measured my hubs today.
I am so making the Tire Rack comp me for all this headache.
Tire Rack confirmed they never tested a Mercedes E63 or CLS 63 for wheel fittment and just used the 66MM from the E211 chassis from other cars.

No 030 package but any chance the parts bins got mixed up here or something on assembly? I wish an 030 ower could check this for me, Tire Rack is stummped and so am I
