Where is the rear fog light switch?
Sorry for the n00b question but my friend was complaining that one of his rear lights is brighter than the other. I'm thinking his rear fog light is on.

Its on the headlight switch... when your headlight switch is all the way to the right (manual on) you pull it towards you once for front fogs and twice to engage the rear single fog light.

reminder: when using fog lights, don't forget to turn off(or reset to auto) head/fog lights as it is in manual mode and will drain the battery. Ask me how I know (on my 06 E55 at least).
