C/S/M shifting

I have a few questions about the way it shifts under M mode.

under C/S
if you set it to 3, it will pretty much shift from 1-3 only unless you hit the limiter on 3 and it will goto 4 ?

what about under same situation on M?
if you hit the rev limiter on 3, does it shift to 4 also?

If you are asking about a 5 speed,

C starts in 2nd and will shift at redline or a little before in routine automatic fashion thru the gears.

S starts in 1st and shifts in routine fashion.

M will keep the transmission in whatever gear it is in and won't automatically shift. As far as I know it will rev to the limiter.

If you are in S and push the downshift (-) and keep it pushed in while accelerating, the transmission will go to the lowest gear possible, but changes it to manual (M) mode. Quickly pushing the upshift button before getting to redline will upshift one gear and keeping it pushed in longer will put it back into full automatic mode.

Exclamation what happens in Manual Mode?

If you are in manual mode (say 7th gear) and hold the downshift paddle while fully depressing the accelerator, should the car downshift into the lowest possible gear or just 6th gear?
I just test drove one yesterday (hopefully to pick up this week) and did notice that you can't rapidly repetitively engage the downshift paddle and have the car drop down multiple gears. The software seems to require at least a full one second delay for EACH gear change. This would seem to require 4 seconds to downshift from 7th to 3rd?
Thanks for your help.

better to downshift prior to going WOT, never downshift after engaging the pedal IMO. There is a .2-.3 second delay so it is important to either get in the correct gear then go or just keep it in d/s and allow the kickdown to engage. going tfrom 7-3rd can happen in the depress of the pedal w/o using the paddle

so if on M, it stays on whatever gear you set it and it won't auto upshift even you hitting the speed limit?
and if it is on C/S even you set at 3rd gear, it will still up shift to 4th?

I am talkint about the 7spd =)

my car is only 2k miles, I am not so used to paddle shift yet =)
