Hello,
I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of months. I just ordered an Indium Grey E63 w/Black Nappa. Options: Premium II, iPod adapter, Voice Control, Parktronic and Trunk Auto closer.
I am trading up from an '07 MB E550. Has anyone here done that? I'd like to hear your experiences comparing the 2 cars - good or bad.
My new E63 is supposed to be here in a couple of weeks.
I have a little buyer's remorse going on, that I'll probably get over, once I'm behind the wheel.

You will absolutely love this car. It can be as wild and aggressive as you want it and at the same time can be luxurious and laid back as you want it. It transforms between the two extremes faster than a blink of an eye
It's got the looks, the style, and definately the performance ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I love every minute that I'm in that car. I love driving it on long travel trips or short ones, I love taking it to the track (both drag and twisties), I love just driving it to the local supermarket, and sometimes I just love getting in the car and crusing around just to relax![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The hardest part will always be the "break-in" period, but once it's over, you'll definately love it.
Congrats on your new car
, and don't forget...... you must post pictures of your new beast as soon as you drive it home

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.
I should have gone with the E63 to begin with. Although the the E550 is flawless, I made the mistake of test driving an E63 about a month ago while waiting for my car to have the windshield wipers adjusted, at the dealership. That's all it took - an experience with the on-ramp of a freeway....
All I could say was 'daaaaaamn'....

I just picked up the rocket today. WOW - I love it. Believe it or not, it rides much better than my just-traded-in '07 E550. It's quieter (less road noise) and not 'wiggly'. The taut suspension is perfect. Firm, yet compliant.
I love the 'grumble' of the exhaust. I am taking it easy. Won't get to punch it until after break-in. But the little squirts of awesome acceleration here and there are signs of things to come!
I'll have pics as soon as possible.

Congrats on the new car!
The E63 is a huge step from an E550 in terms of feel, power, brakes, and exclusivity (the latter is not why I would by one though). The E550 is a great luxo cruiser while the E63 is a 4 door monster that can snack on many exotic sports cars out on the open road.
So if you enjoy dropping the hammer, that buyers remorse will go away the first time you drive the car!

I had 2 M-Roadsters, a 1999 and a 2001. The second one was ridiculous. To this day, the most wildly overpowered vehicle I've driven.
Nice cars.
