We should definately look into a track event at Gingerman in South Haven Michigan. They offer open track nights for around $60.00 per car all the track time you can handle from 5:30 till dark.
I have run there many times. Technical fast and safe.:zoom:

nick 55 01-22-2008 07:46 PM

How about Chicago Indoor Racing up by Wheeling? It's indoors, and we can see who can really run. :zoom::zoom: I guarantee that a couple hours there and you will be shot.

By the way, I drive mine in the snow. I'm a trooper!!!

Sounds goo to me!!

jtc55 01-23-2008 11:18 AM

how about this:

we all meet at: Hooters of Chicago 660 N. Wells Street Chicago, IL 60610 312-944-8800

eat, drink, shot the breeze, and than cruise to Chicago Skyline by Shedd aquarium, Field museum, Adler planetarium, Soldiers Field for some pics and more chit-chat.

i recommend meeting in downtown Chicago b/c people will be coming from many different suburbs, for example, northwest, west, southwest, etc., and this way it is somewhat in the middle for everyone.

also, i recommend everyone meet up w/ other MBworld members in their respected vicinity and take a cruise together to Hooters in downtown Chicago.

i live in northwest suburbs and will meet w/ other members in my area for the cruise :y

what do u guys think?

rsr911 01-23-2008 02:59 PM

Pick a date and I will see if I am free!!

I like the progress we are making here...

jtc-- I would prefer a meet and then cruise for a decent distance (1+/- hour). I say this because I will be coming from Indy (3hr drive) and I would like some good road time with all of you... The cruise could be a combo of highways and other scenic roads out in the suburbs (something similar to Marcus' Meet last summer when we went to Lake Geneva). How about we meet at sheds or vicinity, then cruise out to a suburb for lunch, then go from there-- ineveitably groups will be going home in the same direction. I would propose a route and lunch place, but I wouldn't know where to begin...

Or, if you all want to make the trip to Indy I have great driving routes and food :D

Lets get some more ideas!

c32used 01-23-2008 03:58 PM

I think they are both great ideas! I go with majority...

nick 55 01-23-2008 09:48 PM

I'm for meeting downtown then cruising to the suburbs somewhere for lunch. Just everytime I'm parked downtown, I get a ticket for no front plate or something stupid. :smash:

How about heading out west to (I think) Glendale Heights (maybe Glen Ellyn) to a German restaurant called Schnitzelplatz. Good cars, good food, good times.

OK, FOR SURE!! When are you getting a car???

Marcus Frost 01-24-2008 02:36 PM

Guys,

There are a few options - so we have to narrow down by popular demand what everyone wants to do.

Do we want to meet/eat first and then cruise? Or cruise first then meet/eat?

Do we want to start in the city and wind up in the burbs, or start in the burbs and wind up in the city?

I have good suggestions for any scenario.

Pick a day....Pick a day....Pick a day!:X Don't care either way, as long as weather is decent!

Dsmed 01-24-2008 09:03 PM

Its about time for a meet/cruise. I would suggest staying out of the city.
The traffic downtown will cause the group to be separated. Anyone have a date in mind?

We should all cruise to the auto show!

nick 55 01-24-2008 11:10 PM

Don't really want to park my ride down there during the show. I might be riding in my friends clapped out 99 Civic SI then. :puke: Sorry, just got sick a little thinking about that.

aleksandar1099 01-25-2008 01:08 AM

You know what....i know a perfect place......Oak Brook Shopping mall allways has empty parking lots for lots of cars and a good place to take pictures...and REALLY good food....and maybe then we should take an hr drive from there????? What do u think....maybe mid feb when there is not so much snow on the roads...

Either way works for me so long as the parking situation is good. I liked our meet and cruise to lunch. It allowed some to leave lunch early and others to stay and chat. Start in city, cruise to lunch in the burbs, take pictures, etc., then cruise back actually sounds best. But I am flexible...
