Extended Warranty

Extended Warranty
I am new to MB and will likely be buying a 2003 E55 with 12,000 miles later this week. I have had the car inspected by a MB dealer and they found no issues. Since this car will come with no warranty, just wondering if getting one is a good idea? A few quotes have been $3000-4000 for a full coverage 5 year policy. Any thoughts or any other issues that I should familiarize myself with before I purchase this car?

If you do a search on extended warranties you will find lots of info. I think a majority will agree that is is necessary as the repairs on these vehicles can get very expensive.
A lot of people like these guys: http://www.servicecontracts.daimlerc...sBenefits.html
And someone that is a member of these forums does these plans at a good discount.

First off, welcome!
Secondly, good move on getting an extendo (a must have). The warrantee is not cheap but look at it versus regular insurance. $4K over 3 years is only $1,333 per year (likely similar to what you would pay for collision/theft/comp).
Shop for your best deal - don't hesitate to call from dealer to dealer (does not matter if they are in your state or not) for best price.
I would also call a non-MB line dealer (I can hook you up, PM me) to get a price (it is essentailly "free" money to the Finance Department so they have nothing to lose and will get aggressive to win your business).
