I have 07 E63 and had same problems.
My SA told me oil pan gasket was defective. Although they first thought that it was transmission gasket. My SA told me that it was very rare problem. I hope this helps.

So our luck must be really bad because this is the second car that is leaking oil.

Same thing happened to me. My transmission fluid was leaking. I took it into dealer to fix.

All of the 55K's are prone to a tranny leak from an electrical connector on the right of the tranny towards the bell housing. As I understand it, it is a quick and easy fix.

I would think that this would have been fixed on the new tranny so who knows what it will be?

Having this same problem as we speak. Car is getting towed to the stealership on Monday.

Mine also has the issue as we speak and I need to get it corrected under warranty at the next oil change. They caught it at my alignment but we didn't have time to repair it.

You shouldn't have to tow it if it is only dripping, just make sure your fluid level is okay before you drive it.

So much for that "push toward quality" we heard about from "the new" Benz.

Things roll on unchanged.

Typical response from an SA and or dealer

You should show this thread to your SA and then ask him if he still thinks the leak is so "rare"...

I would love to drive it since I haven't driven the car in about a month but it is more than drip. I think steady stream would be a better description hence the need for a tow.

How long have you had your car? How many miles did you have on it, when you discovered the leaking oil?

My car arrives this week, and this problem will be on my radar.

Hope the fix was an easy one for you.

Make sure you tell your SA to look up all the DTB's related to oil, oil leaks, oil consumption. Last thing you need is to have a car you do not fell confident in or comfortable knowing the oil could start leaking. Check underneath and try and pin point exactly where it is leaking.

Park it on an incline (uphill) and see if the leak persists. The leak on mine was awesome this morning as it went up the tow truck. Looked like someone had just poured some cherry syrup out of a cup on the tow bed.
