My E63 has a noisy engine since day 1. It sounds like its the lifters tapping very hard as if there is no oil circulation its a knock ,loud ticking sound.

Car was fine with oil all along I just did my 1st oil change at 8k miles and everything looks ok.

I can actually hear the sound from across the road when I walk to the car

This cant be normal and I emailed the dealer and they told me it is. I dont mind bringing it in to fix but if this engine gernades that will be a huge mess.

Suggestions?

 

When you say knocking, do you meaning that clicking noise after you turn the car off?

My car makes all kind of noise after I shut it down

 

This one quit knocking.

I would demand the dealer get under the valve covers and do a through inspection.

 

Hi this noise is when the engine is running all day long.

I agree but both dealers tell me its ok to me its BS its way too loud everyone in public is even telling me something sounds wrong with my car.


I have been having problems with this car since day of deliver, all mechanical I think the dealers just dont want to deal with me any longer, very long story but in the interim I dont want the engine to fry and I get stuck or possibly in an accident from this.

 

I do not remember any threads by you that have anything good to say about your 63?? from transmission, to brakes, to wheels, to engine. There is a DTB on the lifters and your dealer needs to fix your car and MBUSA should make your next three payments. Pile your service records together and fax them to MBUSA in NJ...You deserve compensation if all these probs are real.....

 

Compare it side by side to another 63 while at the dealer and in front of the service manager! If the dealer does not have one then I'm sure someone from here would meet you there.
