The results are in!!!!!!!
Jangy's car pulled: 505rwhp SAE corrected, 512rwhp Uncorrected
We lost a bit of torque because the power band was shifted up slight but that is exactly what we are after.
Previous numbers were: 465rwhp, 512rwtq
Our shorty headers + 80mm TB picked up 40rwhp
That completes our VR600 package and puts us at 616hp @ the crank!!!
Vadim will be back at the shop shortly and will scan and post the dyno graphs.
The line starts to the left for the orders..
We will be offering these headers for the same great price we had before..
$1499 including air freight!

VR550 = Pulley + ECU (465 rwhp)
VR600 = 80mm TB + New Design Shorty Headers (505 rwhp)
1) Do any of the above packages contain the Carbon Fiber boxes and tubes?
2) Does the new dyno of 505 rwhp include a new ECU tune or is it the same ECU tune as was done in VR550?
3) Are there any cooling mods included in those two stages?
4) What's the next stage? Is it VR675 or VR700 and what does it include?

We are getting away from selling individual parts and trying to promote complete packages because they are all picked and tuned to work together.
We will obviously always provide individual items to anyone that needs upgrades, but these power packages is where we can make guarantees in terms of performance.
This is how I have broken down our power packages.. This may be modified over time, but so far, this is what I have come up with.
The increase with the headers and TB included a retune.. It was to create our VR600 kit..
If you bolt these on to a stock car, I am not sure what the numbers will be.
Jangy's car has been used to create the "stepping stones" to different power levels. He is now running a VR600 ECU tune along with all the required bolt-ons.

Hey Vic.... I'm a little confused on what components are on which package?
VR550 = Pulley + ECU (465 rwhp)
VR600 = 80mm TB + New Design Shorty Headers (505 rwhp)
1) Do any of the above packages contain the Carbon Fiber boxes and tubes?

3) Are there any cooling mods included in those two stages?
4) What's the next stage? Is it VR675 or VR700 and what does it include?

Oh yes.. Sorry... Major omission on my part..
Jangy's previous dyno of: 465rwhp, 512rwtq was just ECU + PUlley.. NO COOLING.
This dyno was 505rwhp CORRECTED but that included TB & headers...
Sorry.. headers alone do not account for the 40rwhp increase.

Blue - stock 2006 air pump recall calibration.
Red - VR550.
Green - VR600.
Smoothed out we are at 502RWHP. This run started a little later, so TQ numbers are little lower. Other runs are about 510-515 RWHTQ.
Sound-wise car sounds about the same as stock and it already has no resonator. Jangies car is debadged and looks like your average, blacked out E350.
Just stock quiet and deadly.

I am going add a bit of fuel to the midrange, check part-throttle and we are very close to completing VR600.

Nope.. That was STOCK airbox.
We are doing this as per the VR power package... Airbox is introduced in the VR650.. VR600 we wanted to be just air filters, 80mm TB, headers, ECU, pulley, cooling package.

Hmmm, when I bought my VR550 I didn't get any filters. I specifically asked for some VRP filters but was told no. Was I supposed to get them?

No.. I added them to the package AFTER we did your car because we discovered on your car with the paper filters that it was choking the motor.
It was right after that I decided to include them in the package.. That's why the package price is higher now than it was before.

Gotcha. Makes sense. The question is will these headers fit an SL55? The E guys get all the love...

Nicely done!! Glad the car made it this far. Looks like you are gonna make me swap out the cams, just to get some tuning done for the box!!!
Keep up the great work!! The cars being worked on are just awesome. Its nice to be humbled when you pull in with an E55. I feel like I'm dropping off my mom's camry for service. I don't even talk much about my car, I just wanna see all the new toys. LOL!!!
An interesting show will be to go with and without the box at the track. The dyno may not show the gains, but the road will. I'd like to see the box go head to head with other tuner's.

How difficult would it be to swap a twin turbo system in place of the original kompressor on the E55?
Has anybody tried it?

Can it be done, yes. However, you will loose that instant TQ down low, in exchange for midrang and top end.

Not necessarily. I know people are looking into boosting with the SC still there. Ultimately, I agree that Turbos would be more power (mod to mod), but it would take the entire character away. If I am going to play turbo games, it'll be on a tried and true 65. Then, you are talking HP.

Also just to get back on topic, this tune is about as high as you can go with bolt ons and ECU tune, so I'm not sure that swapping SCs for Turbos is really relevent here. Heck, I'm not even getting cams or long headers.....

If you take the same engine with the same amount of boost for turbo vs. supercharged car, the turbo car will make more power because it does not take mechanical power to run. Yes it will change the powerband, but we have relatively large engines and could spool turbos pretty fast so lag wouldn't be much of an issue unless you used HUGE turbos. Put two GT35R's on a 5.4L V8 and it would destroy almost any car on this board (including mine) pretty badly.
I am not disagreeing with you on the upper potential, but the loss of the bottom end is not worth it to me. Another issue with SCs is their ability to flow enough air at the top end. See? I am agreeing with you, but I do not want a turbo or the "power" that they make. I prefer power accross the board.
