Rock, if it's for you then you should definitely check out the M5. You already have one side of the spectrum, now try the other. For a 4x4 I'd have to say the new Cayenne because it is SIIIIIICK and the interior simply blows the ML63 (and especially the century-old G55, which I HATE) away.

08 Cayenne Turbo, Black/Black, Extended Moonroof, 21" 295 tires. Make sure to also spec PDCC which makes the cornering far better than the old Cayenne.
I was looking at this exact spec just a couple of months ago. It sounds like it would fit your needs perfectly. 171mph, 0-60 in 4.8secs and 0-100 in 11.1. It's heavy though, so doesn't feel that fast so watch your license.

I second whoever said G55...
If it's for the wife, you could even go G500. She ain't guna notice the difference. Either way, it's safe, built like a tank, has nav and all the creature comforts, and that thing just never goes out of style.

2007 E63
I had 05 Cayenne Turbo and it had tons of problems. It was very expensive to maintain. Oil change is about $500 to $600 depends on dealer.
I would buy ML63 or CLS 63

OO7 CLS63///G55TANK ///S80-T6///R1///R6
I've had a good share of time in each one of those cars. The cayenne is smooth and classy but I much prefer the raw feel and power of a tank(G55)

I'd have to go with the CLS.
I think the Cayenne is dog crap ugly and the M5 isn't a favorite of mine either. The ML just looks too...soccer momish...good luck!

is Sick as Fu*k
Cayenne Turbo, Sick car, real fast, handles great for a big car, nice ride...I have a regular Cayenne and love it...I also have a G55K grand edition and its on the way back to benz on the lemon law, and so many people complain about the G55 I loved the sh*t out of it, at times I liked it more than my E55, but my bad time with the car also has me saying no to the people who said G55...CLS63 is nice, but the short window or short roof, just makes it uncomfortable...M5 is nice, but the SMG thing will be annoying for the wife... benz is my favorite car company, but ML63 vs Cayenne turbo sorry guys, Cayenne Turbo is just ,

Walk, errr I mean run from that deal. Your best day will be the first and last day of that lease.
As for choice "B" I give you props for being self aware.

Why don't you try offloading the two existing cars first? Use swaplease.com or its equivalent, or sell them if you own them...then you'd be in a better position to negotiate whatever new one you choose.
The more variables you throw at a dealer, the more ways they can find to stick it to you. In this case, you want an AMG, want to finance/lease it with them, plus you have no less than two trade-ins on top of it...
I just don't see you coming out of that situation as well as you could if you removed a couple of the dimensions before you went in there. That's my $0.02 anyway.

My friend who had 05 TT Cayenne, then ML63 came out, bought ML63...He had his trans gone and then the engine but he WOT all the time...Same things he did top his 07 Cayenne TT for 20k and not probs at all...My other friend also had problems with ML63 transmission (fixed under warranty)..so far latest Caynnees have been more relaible...
As for G55...08 G55...front axle and diff have been destroyed at 6k miles..replaced under warranty...I dont think you wife would apriciate G55...it mans car...
I would go 08 Cayenne TT !!!

I think ML63 all the way,
You in the 55, wife in the ML, both silver, too cool.
Besides with that combo you have a vehicle for any occasion or weather.
Just bought the wife a landrover, scored brownie points big time.
