How long did your stock brake pads last? Any suggestions for aftermarket ones?
Currently 29k miles on my 06 E55, and brakes are starting to squeak a good bit. How long did yours last? What are the best aftermarket pads to go with? Any suggestions for aftermarket brake upgrades?

If that's a bunch, then I might have the record. I'm at 56k and will be changing the pads this week. Pagids are in my trunk waiting for me to get time.

All of my AMGs have gone through the fronts in 22-24K miles.
I second Jangy on the Poterfield pads.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
As to to 56K on original pads...someone needs to drive their car harder!!!!!

For those that get lots of miles out of theirs, remember to "burn" the glaze off from time to time or your pads will get a hard surface.
Sweet thing is pad swaps are real quick. That is why I usually do mine way too early, hoping to save some rotor?

just because they squeek doesn't mean they are out of their service limit. the pad has a sensor that will let you know when they are running thin. In the old days, there was a metal bar attached to the pad that would hit the rotor and squeek when the pad was getting thin. not on our cars.

Quite a bit of my driving is highway driving, and with most of my in-town driving, I almost always anticipate stops/slowing down and gently downshift to 5-10 MPH prior to braking.

If someone could get all of these jackasses out of my way, I might be able to abuse the car a little bit!!!!!!

Yeah, it's got a specialized S M Gee I'm sure glad I don't get whiplash when my car shifts transmission. It allows you to manually downshift, yet gives full acceleration without requiring trips to the chiropractor. Sucks in the twisties though.

+1 on the porterfield pads. My pads lasted 15k miles. After the third set I went ahead and installed Evosport rotors. Made a world of difference.
