i envy you, in a good way.

i personally think a man gotta have a nice watch (and shoes), no matter what he does or wears.
You may be right but the best thing about really high-end watches (in white metals) is that few have a clue what you strap on your wrist. It becomes a very private hobby that you can enjoy without worrying about showing off. Not sure about the Gucci shoes though!

There is just something about a device so tiny, and so perfect, with all the engineering and parts that goes into them yet they can last for many lifetimes. It is a god time to be into cars and watches as both are on fire with so many great offerings on the market.

BTW, The 1912 VC was my grandfather's otherwise I don't think it would have been possible to score it as I have only seen one at auction in 20 years).

Rolex SS Submariner Date
Rolex SS Datejust vintage 1951

Next addition will be an AP ROO Safari

I was going to say, "who still wears a watch", but after reading the posts it appears I'm one of the few that doesn't anymore. I've got two Rolexes and a Tag I use for diving but all three are in a drawer at home.

I use my phone for just about everything now including telling time. Haven't worn a watch in years even though I'm still drawn to window shop when I'm at the mall.

Double-plated, titanium layered, solar-powered, special order G-Shock

Not as expensive as most of your watches, but definately as satisfying

I dont have any APs, and as much as I love the Royal Oak I never found it to be amazing enough to buy, but the AP Safari is one beautiful watch.

I still have the same 2-tone Rolex datejust I got from my Dad for high school graduation. The face is pretty unique and has a repeating hologram rolex logo that you can barely see. I swear it's not as tacky in person as it sounds, it actually looks neat when you see it.

In any event, I'm content with it. I window shop sometimes, but never have a real urge to get a different watch.

Wife got me some piece of crap. I dunno, something called a 1933 gold Patek Phillipe with 24 complications. Don't tell her, but I pulled the ole, "Doggone it, lost another watch!" bit.

Think it was worth anything?

Im "watche-less"...no watch

You know the weight of the watch can make you 0.0000000001 secs slower in quarter mile right?
