Not another offset question?!
Not another offset question?!
Ok, maybe it is...but my seriously **** tendencies cause me to ask soo many freaken questions when it comes to my car and my electronic purchases. So, here is my quandary:
I want to purchase new rims for my car. I already have the rims picked out (see attached pic) and am limited to 19x8.5 for the front and 19x9.5 for the rear. Recommended tire sizes were 245/35 in the front and 275/30 for the rear.
Here are my questions:
I called 2 different places carrying the same rim and they gave me 2 different offset sizes for both front and rear...talk about confusing the sh*t out of me! So what would the board recommend for offset sizes?
I also need all-season tires along with this purchase. Both rim places offer tires as part of a package deal. Rim shop 1 offers Nankang NSII, Rim shop 2 offers Falken. Anyone have any thoughts on these?
Has anyone had problems with bends/cracks rollin on 19's? I frequent NY quite often and use the BQE or the Belt Pkwy. Anyone from NY knows the propensity for potholes. Driving along at ungodly speed on thin rubber makes for a nasty trip.
I heard somewhere on this board that MB equipped the E55 with 19 inch rims/tires on certain shipments. Going with this size and knowing that there would be a slight difference in speedometer/odometer readings, could the dealership reconfigure the settings to compensate?
I am looking to buy tomorrow AM so your speedy response would be appreciated.
Thanks to all who reply!

my brabus wheels for E55 is 29mm in front and 35mm in rear
Those Brabus offsets are too aggressive. Add about 5mm to each number.
MB DOES NOT recalibrate the speedo. Yes, they do offer 19s, but with lower profile tires that keep the rolling diameter the same.
ESP CARES!! I would not make a change of over 3% to the diameters. If you do, the ESP will kick in around each and every corner.
Enjoy!!
