Question Cat replacement program?

I just had a "D" service done, and when checking the paperwork, I noticed a few extra lines.

Cat service - replacement program

Now I have 2 new cats. I'll see if they were primary or secondary when I look at the receipt again.

Anybody else?

Not mine, but a friend with an older ML got his replaced under a recall.

My SL55 had this done last time it was in but I have to wait for a clamp from Germany. Depending on the build date of the cat it either falls into the recall or not. If it does they replace both primary cats. The cats on the AMG's are integrated so if you replace one you have to do both.

Free new parts.

It's official - the new cats are louder than before.

Not 100% convinced I wasn't making up the additional throaty growl at first. Then the wifey was riding in my car, shot me a look and asked "did you modify your exhaust?"

For the first time in my life, I could honestly say no.
