Audi S4
What the hell is that crap? I thought the rumor was a twin turbo 3.0L V6. Audi needs to get their head out of their a$$ and go back to forced induction. Screw gas-guzzling V8s, unless it's a forced induction V8 which would never happen on the S4. I hope this report is way off.

Seriously, Audi is stupid for making another V8 S4.

If they go turbo again, they'll be back in the game.

The RS6 is turbo but the RS4 isn't.

Seems like the RS5 isn't going to get a turbo either.

I don't get their logic!

On a further note, the S4 is a C-Class competitor.

The S6/RS6 is an AMG E-Class competitor.

I agree with everyone here, I have a V8 S4 and while it's not a bad car - 3 generations of V8 S4s is just stupid. The V8 is good, but not great, bring back the V6 biturbo...

I used to work for Avalon Motorsports in my NYU days. Back then they were based out of a basement in Montclair, and Sunny55 and I basically ran the place. We worked on a boatload of B5 S4's, they were awesome cars. Huge power gains with a few mods, an engine that wouldn't quit, and your only enemy was heatsoak. That platform absolutely kicked a$$ and it's the reason why S4 sales are still strong. They need to bring that engine back ASAP.

Not sure about that report. I heard it was a FI (supercharged or TTd) 3.0.

I always wondered why Audi changes body style or do "facelifts" like almost every year....

From year 2000 to 2008, we have seen 3 generations of the A4...and now..more???

Where the heck have you been, bro?

I've been back for over a year. I was MIA for a bit after I sold my '03 but had a bad stint with the RS6 I replaced it with, so I dumped it and jumped right back into an '05 E55.

The B5 ('94-'01) was the first A4 platform. The B6 ('02-'05) & B7 ('05.5 - current) is the same platform (granted, it is a major facelift). The upcoming B8 is a whole new platform. So I guess you could say:

'94-'01 = 8D Chassis (7 years)
'02-'08 = 8E Chassis (6 years)
'09+ = 8F Chassis (presumably)

from those pics..

I can't see where they would stick a front mount IC heat exchanger..

around the fogs is covered and the nose is covered by a giant license plate.

can't see this car being FI.

Silly rabbit, B5 S4's had two intercoolers, those extra holes on the fog light covers could be for IC's.

It needs a twin turbo V6 that makes 450-475 hp and good tq to compete with the C63 and M3...I love my B5 S4 (STG.2) to bad its a TIP or i would have been STG.3 by now.
