damn~i know how it feels since i dealt with them for half year~
hopefully it's not something major. I thought mine was something major, but
it turned out to be my cats on the right side (melted and kinda blocked the flow of exhaust. wasn't breathing right. just gotta clean inside the exhaust. When this happened, it was building up weird plastics(melted) on my exhaust)
Good luck !!!

since you have k2 i think yoyu removed you primaries..but replaced them with race ones no?
so the secondary ones melted from the extream heat?

That is why my tuner reccomended ME to remove mine...with time they would get toasted anyways...
We had one SL500 SC..his cats melted and som ebits went into cylinders

But, what i don't get is when he said it melted inside, i asked him if i need to get a new cat. he basically said no and it just needs to be cleaned~i don't know how he is going to clean the inside the exhaust.

Rider, did you get your new CATS yet? I know there is a CAT recall from Benz. Wonder if it covers all cats and what years??
Anyone know?
If it covers you, maybe you could just snag new ones.

Probably "YES"...I have Headers, no Cats, middle stock then E.race and its fine....but you have no resonators...too much drone and how are you going to pass emission tests

but, i dont have warranty anymore. My car is 2004 btw.
like i said, if i have to replace one, i would probably go for high flow secondary cats. DO u think it would be too loud with my current setup?
K2+no resonator+custom catback+Eisenmann race muffler is my setup right now.

There are recalls that supercede warranty. I'll have to check with my guy to see if it does.
He just did some trunk lid fix that was required even if out of warranty.
Worth a call at least.

I am looking at buying our own dyno and putting it into a new location.. We dont have enough room for it in our shop.. This will make things alot easier for us and all of you guys will have a place to come and get dynos done.

This thread is about jackpros car. do you guys have any idea the stress hes goin threw? I do, he dosnt care about this other stuff about dynos and cats. so make a different thread.
Jackpro any news yet? did you get that 70 HP I think yesterday it was getting tuned right? So what the latest?

We are still tuning and correcting airflow and other obstacles that we come across.
We had a restriction with the headers which we replaced with our longtubes and then retuned to take advantage of the extra flow.. when we pulled the kleemann headers off and replaced them with ours the car went very lean. We added more fuel and modified the map.
Below is the last dyno chart we have from Wedn's pull.. We are at 541rwhp but there is still a restriction somewhere... Jim's car has only headers and stock exhaust behind that.. He also has the very first generation VRP 80mm TB kit on his car.. this TB kit had the stock S/C 74mm inlet which was ported to 80mm and a plate welded on.. We checked the internal volume and it is still noticeably smaller than our new 1piece 80mm S/C inlet so we are now swapping that into place..
We also have to look at the exhaust now and see if that stock piece is causing any more restriction.
On Rocket's car we got 550rwhp.. he has our cams but no heads.. He also has the Supersprint full exhaust from front to back...
Jim's car is making this power with less than 13psi of boost.. We have a few more things to try to figure out where the restriction is.
We are also wondering if we are close approaching the airflow limit of the S/C.. We know that it can't flow any more air than 700hp worth.
Once we've tried a few more things on Jim's car we will post the results...
So far we are stuck at 542rwhp.
EDIT: BTW, Red pull is how Jim's car arrived to our shop (Kleemann ECU and Kleemann Headers). Green line is with Kleemann ECU and our longtubes swapped into place. Blue line is with VRP ECU and our headers.
