Drove the Audi S5, What a dissapointing ride!
During my daily running around today I spotted this beautiful S5 outside the dealership and I just had to check it out Gray with Red. I have admired the styling of this car since it came out and love the detail and interior. I like its styling better than the 335 Coupe and it kills the BMW 6 series in every department.
Well after a good 45 min ride I was dissapoiinted that the car looks better than it drives. It drives similar to my cousins chipped A4 2.0 except the engine is quiet and smoother. Steering was overassisted and through nice switchback turns it has massive oversteer. Power was marginal then again it felt damn slow to my E63. 4 tailpipes yet it makes no noise out the back.
I have been shopping for a 3rd car with AWD and I am not a huge SUV fan I think the 335 Xi Sedan is the way to go for the money its a bargain on a lease.
Oh the bigger dissapointment on the S5 are the numbers.
MSRP loaded is $59,000
Lease for 24 months is $1360 with $7000 Cash 10k miles
36 months was around $1100.
Who in their right minds will pay this? This is more than my E63 and my E63 is 98,000 MSRP.
I think Audi needs to inject some real sports car feel into this model maybe a RS5 will arrive not sure but the S5 and S6 are BORING rides, my opinion anyway. Such a nice design though I wonder what the tuners will do with thie model.
Anyone here drives these cars?

Audi have made it clear that their S versions will be watered down and the focused RS-line brought to the fore.
