The King is here!
Absolutely AWESOME day today!!!!
Don't even know where to begin....
Well,I wish I had a camera to snap a pic of Chris'(05Venom)face when he came to the tower7saw he ran a 12.16,it was priceless!Seeing how excited he was set the tone for the day guys...
Lorenzo arrived dapper as ever, quite dashing I must say
Pleasure meeting Chris,Mike&seeing Jim as well as some of the Bimmer guys like Multiowner who is one of the most consistent drivers I'ver ever seen w/out electronics go down a track.Even though traction went south he still drove the sh*it outta that M5!! Bonehead's M5 sounds amazing, and the 10sec C6 vette threw down some insane times(1.48 60' on d/r's!)
Special thanx to my immediate crew of consisting of Anthony D(who will be driving a CLK B.S. soon, and yes,YachtMaster you can beat on it if you like!)and Wyheem and a thanx to my support crew via Verizon on the West Coast Josh&Mo,and CylinderHead for starting this thread. And everyone else who txt me w a congrats!
Lemme go grab my slips&throw some numbers at ya....brb

Dinan S3 led the way with an 11.7x (dunno the 60' or trap)
multiowner ran 11.992 @ 117.83 with a 1.815 60'.
Mine was kinda disappointing at a 12.09, 121.51, 2.099 60'. My first time out on the strip and I had 20" wheels (those are my excuses and I'm stickin' to them).
Everyone had a tough time hooking as the day went on. Track was prepped and sticky, though. Guess the tires started to turn to goo.

Enzom, where are you???? I was so excited about a match up with you and Oldgixxer, but heard about your wheel troubles. Sorry you didn't get to run much today, but I'm sure you'll take it all out in your next rental
By the way, when is the next ATCO rental? Next week?

Great runs, can you post some of the BMW slips as well for analysis

another theory as to why the track "went bad": Sounds as if the track was prepped well and started off super sticky. Street tires literally scrub the traction compound off of the track. Sometimes a track must be re-sprayed multiple times during a days session to keep it consistent.

Ok,dont have time to scan em all,so I'll post the best from the a.m.&some hilights from the afternoon as well.
1st pass out the gate:
60'-1.86(ESP off)
330-5.202
1/8-7.89@91.73mph
1000'-10.205
12.15@116.2
2nd(ESP off)
60'-1.809
1/8-92.40
1000'-10.08
12.01@117.57
3rd(ESP off)
60'-1.83
1/8-7.806@92.45
1000'-10.100
12.031&117.47mph
4th (record run,ESP off)
60'-1.830
330'-5.109
1/8-7.756@92.96mph
1000'-10.034
11.952@118.32mph
bunch of 12.05-06's@117.2+mph
40th pass
60'-2.050(traction control engaged but still spun bad)
330'-5.385
1/8-8.042@92.73
12.23@118.53(highest trap of day)
Enzom had problems cuz Tirerack.com didn't send the required hubcentric spacers to fit the wheels properly;he experienced sever vibration on the back half of the track&had to hit the brakes a few times.
I feel if he would have been able to run the D/Rs he would have easily gone 11.5x@119-120mph.I also feel my 63 is an 11.80 car in these conditions on D/R's.

Hey, guys. We had a great event today. Weather was almost perfect, and the track was pretty sticky.
I was not able to run today, unfortunately. Because I was running without centering rings on my new wheels (thanks, Tire Rack), I had a horrific vibration above 85 mph. Very scary stuff. I completed maybe four runs all day (aborted 5 or 6 others at the 1/8th). I found one of my time slips in the box of slips with an 11.922 @ 118.05, but it felt like I was running with a flat tire. Bittersweet.
But it gave me time to watch the action. . The 63's were awesome, as were some tuned 55's running 11.5's and 11.6's. The M's sounded scary. There is no sneaking up on someone in those cars.
I think that the street tires just got too gooey in the afternoon. The track was still so sticky that your shoes stuck to the groove, but the cars on street rubber were still spinning.
It turned out to be great fun for lots of guys. I only wish I could have joined in the fray.

Yes,100% correct.Like somebody mentioned they need to heat&scrub the track which they didn't after the rubber started gumballing up.After they resprayed 1 side the D/R guys could hook but that also went away quickly.Multiowner rips off 1.80 60' times all day and he was having trouble gettin 1.9's in the p.m.
BMW guys hets MUCH LOVE from OG,I love your M's and they absolutely haul azz up top: AJCUT was rippin 120+mph traps,Interlagos Blue M6(clutch problems) sounded like he had a rear end cuz it whined on the back half&he was trapping 120+mph even w crappy launches.E39 Dinan was banging 11.7s w a slipping clutch,Boneheads car set off house alarms.75mi away(the police actually showed up,lol)as he almost hit the wallYor car HAULS AZZ man;sorry I didn't introduce myself, next time I will
No bad mouthing any M cars here, they are top notch runners

The track was resprayed at about 1:00. We tried to keep the street tired cars in the left lane, but it was tough. Some guys didn't get the message, and it is hard to blame people for wanting to make some head to head runs.
We only had 3 cars (excluding myself) running on DR's, so it is hard to tell 12 guys that they can only use one lane while the right one stays empty. I have been to vette rentals where the split is the reverse, and then the street tire guys complain that the surface isn't getting enough action to stay warm for the launch. Can't win.

COuld you or anyone else familiar with this problem be more specific with your issue today concerning "centering rings". I want to make sure I avoid the same problem with my new rims and tires. Was your problem with the rims? What should we be looking for.
Thanks
