Need Help with Modding

Hey all,

I haven't been on this forum for a while. I've been trying to focus on my business so I've been trying to take a break from my car (e55 rehab, if you will...)

In any event, with the spring around the corner, I'm considering modding it a little. And by a little, I really mean ALOT, but that's beside the point. But here's what I plan to get:

Wheels:

I have my eyes set on 20" Auto Couture Insignias. There's a picture of it in the link below.

http://www.auto-couture.com/blacklab...nia/index.html

What do you guys think? I not sure if I like them enough to justify paying $1500 a wheel, but can't seem to find anything else that I really like.

Performance

I plan to go Kleeman K2 and get the Evosport cooling upgrade. I also plan to get the Renntech ELM and I'm thinking about getting an eisanmann sport exhaust. Any tips? Especially on the exhaust since I heard that it's a total waste of money?

Misc

I'm thinking about painting my roof black to go for the pano look without the extra weight. Has anyone ever done this? I don't really care about what it will do to the resale value since it's an 04 and it won't have much of a resale value by the time I sell it anyway...

That's all the major things I plan to do for now, but I've never really modded the car prior to this so any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Persiangodfather went with removable vinyl black on the roof to simulate pano-look.

Not a big fan of the rims but everyone has different tastes. As of right now I would recomend 360 fordged for rims that might change on monday.lol
as far as performance I think you are right on. My car is modded way beyond that but I wouldnt do it again. I also like the idea of a painted roof should look nice.

Just get an VRP550 kit for $2,500 and their $1,500 intercoolor upgrade and you'll be good to go

The performance mods are exciting and do something for real. The wheels, elm, and painting are all window dressing so I would pass on those things.

I do like your theory on resale value, have fun when you can and screw the future results.

Hey, whatever you do, have fun and enjoy your mods. Have dyno's done to measure performance and than go to the track and air her out. Check my sig, I think you are on the right track..........

Thanks for all your feedback guys. Yeah, I believe that there's no point of getting a performance car if you aren't going to really enjoy it. As such...f**ck the resale value. That's how I see it.

But then again, with a sinking economy, who knows how things will be 12 months from now. As much as I want to buy toys for the 55, my business sense and practical judgment force me to consider being financially responsible with my capital.

That being said, what do you guys think if THESE rims?

They are a little "bling" for my taste, but there's something very unique about them imo.

Ok, I just found out those rims cost over 6K a piece so they are definitely too "bling" for my taste.

I'm also considering 20" Maya MRS in anthracite. But my car is pewter and I'm not sure how anthracite wheels will go with pewter. Has anyone seen that combo?

And does anyone know how the eisenmann sport exhaust sounds compared to the race? I want my car to sound more aggresive but the race is a little too much. Anyone know of any exhaust options that sound better than the eisenmann race setup?
