E63 Curb Weight ??
I finally got a chance to weight my car last night, and was a little surprised at the results. MBUSA claims the E63 weights 4040 lbs but my car weighted 4240 lbs last night
I understand curb weight is the car's weight with standard equipment only (not inlcuding any options), but I seriously don't have much options. All I have that may add weight is:
1) Premium II Package (maybe some added weight due to heated/ventilated seats ).
2) Parktronic (maybe some added weight due to sensors ).
3) Performance Package (LSD and maybe suspension or brakes? ).
What do you guys think? Could these options really add 200 lbs

MB Forever....This is nothing new. With me in my 63 it weighs a staggering 4,500lbs(1/2 tank). I am 235 so it weighs 4,265lbs..more than yours. And I still run a 12.1
Puts all those nay-sayers to rest last year when they said the 6.3 motor did not produce the claimed 507
12.1 for a 4,500llb sedan is pretty friggin' impressive if you ask me!!

E55/63 is one of the fastest sedans out there,I love the expressions on nay-sayers faces as they get passed by a 4200lb car with a babyseat in the back&my dog sittin shotgun up front

But I would've still liked to have the car weight close to 4,000 lbs as promised

According to AMG, it weights an extra 120 lbs just because of the pano roof option, which makes that 11.95 second pass even more special

Hey look the 4 fastest 63's on the planet all in the same thread , LOL.
You guys all need to LOSE WEIGHT!! Dam what is it with 63 drivers average weight 260lbs,
my car was 4130 with an near empty tank, on the way back from Famoso.
It was 4420 stock ........not good.

I was 256 last Feb when I got my 63, I am now down to 235...goal is 220. So far toughest 21lbs any car has lost.

i belive 2 lessons learned
1 do not belive what they tell you in statistics ( would have thought that would have been obvious by now )
2. is weight really that big of an issues like some of you are making it out to be?
yes it can help but, your making it sound like it vastly makes a diff on our cars
The stock car with the baby seat and pano roof is ur best example

Power to weight ratio , improve power or lessen weight and car goes faster.
You add a lighter wheel to your CLS and it will be similar to adding a pulley.
The 11.95 E63 pass was mainly due to the driver. Had he driven my car 11.80's would have been achieved . My car is only 4130, I am certain the E63's are coming in over 4200 pounds.
Chris is soooo right. The harder weight to lose is the burger and beer craving belly. Hell Id be in the 11's if I was 190 instead of 235.

You and Chris should weigh at a truck scale then add in driver weight . Would make our 63 list stand out if I could paste weights. I weighed my car after my 12.11 run on a truck scale and it was only 4130. :-)
Thanks Mr. King

They effect Acceleration/ Braking/ and fuel economy
Might be interesting if you could dig up some info on this so we all understand it better and if it is only reliant on wheels
