BMW nut looking to move to an E55
AMG engine cover- art!
greetings: i'll eventually (hopefully sooner than later) be joining the ranks with you and E55 AMG ownership. as a life long enthusiast (car nut!) and owner of BMW M3's, Audi S4, etc. i am excited about everything i've read on the E55. i've actually driven one on the road and down the 1320... very impressive.
help me out: the engine is beautiful. is it a case of form over function? can someone tell me what all the fancy shapes/pieces, etc. that make up the engine cover? i swear, the hood should be transparent like the Ferrari models.

Piece with the star on it is useless and just pops straight up and off. Nice piece though as it covers a lot of ugly/dirty engine parts.
2 plastic pieces above them furthest right and left hold the air filters for the beast. Parts with the AMG on them are surge tanks and magnesuim if I remember correctly. Centerpiece truly is the centerpiece, a 22,000rpm spinning act of God that is the Kompressor. German for supercharger by the way.

Welcome!!! You are going to love the 55 motor.. Oh.. Just be sure to hide your credit cards and cheque book because hanging out on here with all these hp freaks can get you into trouble real quick!!

That is the engine bay of AMGFan's car.. He has a SICK looking ride and will have alot of power under the hood to go along with all the bling.
It's my favourite engine shot out of all the ones I did...
