W211 AMG Station Wagon (T-Model)
Just came back from my dealer who gave me the latest product info about the station wagon of the new E-class (E55 AMG T). The sad news is that the delivery in Europe will take place not before autumn 2003. The positive side of the medal is the long list of optionals which will then also be available for the sedan. Just a brief extract:
-a lot of new storage space for small to medium items
-rear door can be opened from the drivers place
-the bottom of the rear space can be extracted for easier access (400 mm)
-active light system, which means that the lights will follow the road up to 12° degrees
-my favorite, the new Command DVD system, with a plug available in the glove compartment in order to attach addtl. player etc.
-DVD-monitor in the fond with telecommand for the Command system
a lot of more stuff
The weight is 1990 Kg, so slightly higher than the sedan but still less than the SL55 AMG. Tyresize is: front 245/40ZR18, back 265/35ZR18.
That's it. There's now only one option left. Sit and wait.

Mercedes would be very wise to bring this car to the States!
This is one car I would definitely BUY, cost be damned if it was a signifigant increase (+/- 10%).
Can you imagine this car on the track with a few key upgrades? Best of all, it would be dusting M5's.
Anyone feel the same?
