E55 AMG
Viabration coming from engine

After I had my ASP pulley installed I started feeling a viabration coming from the engine I think. It only happens when theres alot of load on the car like if im in 3rd or 4th gear from a low speed at almost WOT. Anyone know what this might be?

Motor mounts have been a problem on a few of our cars. Worth a check.

Also CHECK THAT PULLEY!!! Is she wobbling at all?

The pulley looks fine to me but im no mechanic. Ill have the shop make sure its on there tight when I got back to have the h/e installed.

Mine had a very rough idle. Service yesterday.. car needed new leads. Car runs brand new now. Yours sounds pulley related...but...you never know.

look at that pulley while someone gives it some gas. it should be lazer straight. hope its an easy fix.

STOP! I hope you used a NEW crank bolt and then (don't quote me) 147 Ft Lbs. plus 90 degrees is what it takes to install the pulley. Jangy a well known member here had his pulley come loose and it ruined his crank$$$$$$$$haft.

BTW I would re dyno after a tank of fuel so that the ECU has time to adapt.
Your second dyno should not be considered accurate. The IAT had to be just shy of blower shut down.

OK good on the bolt, Have you looked at the Pulley with the engine running?
It should run true if it looks blurry or you see belt dust or any strange wear pattern on the belt take it into the installer. Make a point to ask how they (mechanics) held the crank, while torquing the bolt, the easy part is holding to 147 Ft. Lbs the 90 degrees is more than "hard to hold" and few shops have the correct tool.

I would say its running rough as ECU adapts to the bigger pulley.

Depends what you mean by vibration though ... does not sound like a pulley at low speed high gear - could it be tranny?

I would find out how they installed the pulley ... in particular how they held the crank still while torquing the crank bolt.

Is the S/C belt tensioner OK - belt not slipping etc and put on right?

my car has bit rough idle for a few seconds during morning start up..

after that... its purrs like a kitten.

At a stop.. the engine vibration is so small and the engine sound is almost feels the cars off.

I'm thinking its normal having a bit of hick ups during cold starts.

But not during driving or during a stop light

I have those issues with my C32... at a stop the car vibrates and feels like a slight misfire on the engine.

I have stock wires and changed plugs like 2 years ago. I'm not sure if they gapped the plugs correctly or if my ignition coils are faulty.

I recently did a trans fluid change and the vibration was reduced.

Next I plan to do a fuel filter change and see if the motor mounts are still good.

^ Sounds like the exact same symptoms mine had. Id guess you need new plugs and leads. I was told when mine was done that when the leads start to wear the spark flowing through the leads is slightly irregular. As a result the engine beats to an irregular tune at idle. When the engine is revving it produces enough power/spark to over ride any noticeable irregularity however the irregularity is still there and it is affecting the cars performance.
