I have a 2008 E 63 since Jan. When I start driving the car from a stop, for example at a red light and turn right, there is a free play in the steering wheel feel, just like the steering wheel has to move a minute angle before it catch into the wheel to turn the car. It kind of difficult to describe. I took it to the dealer but they cannot reproduce that problem, but I know that it's there, I cannot explain it to the mechanic. Sometimes, I feel it when I drive over a shallow dip at slow speed, or when I drive from a driveway onto a street. Any other owner experience the same problem? Thanks.

 

I too, have an '08 E63, and my steering is tight and precise. I'd notice anything off kilter, as I am a bit OCD with my cars.
