need advice for E63

Hi everyone.
I thought about selling my E63 and getting 06 M5 or BMW 335i with Dinan chip.
After test driving both of them, I decided keep E63. M5 was very nice but I just cannot stand SMG. And 335i is too small. So I decided to make few upgrade to my E63.

First, I am very disappointed at Logic 7 sound quality. My wife's audi A3 with bose surround system is much better. Do I need to replace speakers or install sub woofer or both?
I scratched one of exhaust tip and is there fix for it? I also thought about painting them black. How much will body shop charge for painting?
I know that there was thread about VRP X pipe however I cannot find any sound clip. Is there anyone who has sound clip?
I am also ordering clear corner light for front bumper.
Thanks

You wanted to down grade from an AMG E63 to a non ///M edition 3 series ?

I agree with you on the Logic 7 sound quality, quite dissapointing. My Acura TL ELS sound system is by far better. You would probably have to change the speakers for better highs and install some tweeters.

I looked at 335i for the price and relatively cheap mods. $1999 for dinan ECU with 80hp and 120 torque increase seemed pretty good for the money. Free maintenance is another positive aspect. However as you said down grade and relatively small size were reasons to keep my E63.
Can you recommend any particular brands for speakers?
I want to get best information from best people who knows AMGs or MBs.
Thanks

I can tell you that I am looking at adding a 135i to the stable to mod out. DOn't knock them, the 135 and 335 are truly great tuner cars that with some of the right tweaks, really kick M butt. I have never owned a non-AMG Benz, or a non-M BMW so this will be a first.

Ckim:

On a different note, keep the E63 as I would never replace that with a 335, just add to it.

For speakers, it is pretty hard to beat Focal for performance and they come in all different price ranges. So take a look.

Black exhaust tips would look great but the cars that I am aware of that have them use an aluminum tip that is hard anodized. I would talk to a plating shop but I wouldn't go with paint or powdercoat as it probably won't hold up over time. BTW, If you figure out how to do it properly...let me know as I would want to do it too.

I didn't get the VRP x-pipe but had one fabricated by AAA exhaust on La Cienega.

E63 advice

Hey Ckim, hope all is well... I've actually been in the same boat as you, and have been going to the BMW dealers recently to maybe trade in my E63. The longest ive kept a car is 2 years, but im already thinking about trading it in. If you are planning to paint the exhaust tips, i would try to black out the back lights as well.. Speakers, i dont know to much about..but few cars ive been looking in to is the bmw m6 and the bmw 650,.. but im also thinking about visiting a porshe dealer some time and seeing what will happen.

I agree, a modded 135/335 can surpass previous gen ///M3 and with enough mods catch the new ///M3.

The 335i have already hit 11.80s last January at our track meet, which I think is much faster than the new M3 even when modded with bolt ons. It had the following upgrades: chip + full exhaust system + lighter rims and slicks + don't know what else.

Also, Warren's 335 hit 12.19 to 12.25 a couple of times at Famoso last February with just Juice Box software ($600) and slicks
