Well, they hit showrooms april 2003 as a 2004 model. i'm not sure how many e55's each of the dealers will receive, but the one i'm in line for is a pretty large dealership.
The diamond silver i know is on the new SL's, and that it's slightly different from the brilliant silvers found on the E's. Looking at both of them side by side, the diamond silver was a bright silver with a hint of blue/purple in it.

That diamond silver sound more and more interesting.
I don't understand car manufacturers, why bring a car in the middle of 2002 and say it is a 2003, same for your car in APRIL of 2003 and say it is a 2004!
This actually hurts you, because by jan 2004 your car will have some milage and if for what ever the reason might be you needed to sell it at that point you have a 2004 model with more than 1000 miles.

Frankly, I would rather have a 2004 with miles on it than a 2003 with the same miles. I believe that if a car goes on sale after a certain date it can be called the next years model. The value of the car will certainly be greater as a 2004 vs. a 2003. Does anybody have any thoughts on Jade Black? Will it be more green than Black?

The color list is available at the UK site, at this URL:
http://www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/pc/index.html
Go to E55 site, then there's a spec page with paint option listed at the bottom of the page. You can try all the different colors painted onto the model E55.
No diamond silver listed.

Hmm......,about the diamond silver. If you go to the US site compared to the UK site, they do list different colors for the SL. There is no diamond silver on the UK site, but there is on the US site. Perhaps this will hold true for the E55 as well. For the pictures, it's kinda hard to see the color of the vehicle but when it reflects under light, it's a big difference opposing the brilliant silver.
For the jade black, that color looks really nice. I want to look at that color as well as the obsidian black up close under different lighting. (The US website for the E500 does not have good color contrast on the built your own site!
)
Harvee, have you gotten an options list from your dealer yet? Mine said that anytime this month. At least the salesperson gave me some tickets for the MB lounge at the Detroit Auto Show
. Hopefully MB brings an E55 to the show, with the list of all the colors avail.
