New to the forums, E63 questions.

Hello!

I'm new to this forum, and I have a few questions about the E63 for you guys.

I was just building the E63 on the MB webiste, and I have a question about the AMG Performance package. Is it worth the extra 8k+ that they want for it? And does it make a huge difference in the way the car rides/handles??

Also what would a good lease price on a E63 be with 12k miles a year, I'm going over to the dealer to look at one today.

Thanks!

Tom

Yes there is a difference in ride feel and handling due to the stiffer suspension. Whether that is a plus or a negative depends on the driver. Some people prefer the stiffer (harsher) ride while others prefer the softer ride. To me, the most important thing on the Performance Package is the LSD. I guess if you don't track your car much, then it's not worth it, but if you do, then you'll enjoy every penny of the Performance Package

You should also order it with the AMG Performance Studio carbon fiber exterior package and AMG sound system!
Seems impossible to get these packages after you get your car.

I just got a 2007 E63 without the AMG performance package and I love it. I can't even imagine this car being upgraded more than it is!!!!!!!!!

I don't see these options on the website????

Also I test drove the E63, and it pulls alot harder than the CL55.

I have an 07 e63, no 030 package, and ran a 12.3 recently so I'm not sure how important it is...it's probably worth a few tenths. (If you look at posts by Oldgixxer, I think he ran a 11.95 without 030, someone correct me if I am wrong). The car gets substantially faster once you get a few miles on the motor. It does make the car handle better on road courses as well, so it depends how you are going to use it. LSD helps put power down on tight turns, but in normal driving the suspension on my E feels just about perfect.
There have been a number of posts on E63 lease deals... I seem to remember 999 a month with a little over 5k down. IMHO, if you are paying more than 1200 bucks with a nominal amount down, you are paying too much... MB offers occasional financial incentives to clear them out of inventory, but I'm sure other posters can give you a better idea of what time of year this happens. All of the numbers I'm talking about are non-030 package, with a moderate load of options.

Thanks for the write up!

As far at the 030, I still don't know if I would want to have it in this car or not....

They can get a E63 with almost every option, it has the 030, and the CF interior, but I dont know if the CF will look good.

Thanks again everyone!

Okay guys just got back from the dealer, got a lease price.

1480$ a month for 33 months, the msrp on the car was about 94k. The price for the car went down to about 88k for those numbers.

That price is with about 2,800$ due at signing.

Is this a good deal or can I do better?

1,480 is about right if that includes the tax and the total out of pocket is 2,800. Also 12k a year. You can probably get the 2,800 down a little. good luck.

PS Perf pack not worth it, my 2 cents

Yea, the price includes the tax. I'm still going to try and work the price down a little lower.

Where in NY are you?
