Carbon fiber interior trim for E55

I have a 2003 E55 President's Edition that has all carbon fiber trim in the interior. I dropped a bottle of Perrier on the center console and cracked the carbon fiber around the shifter/transmission control. I have not been able to find a place to get it fixed. My dealer is not that helpful. Does anyone know where i might be able to by a replacement piece? I expect it will have to be custom made.

I know brabus has a kit but get ready to give you left arm for it there really expensive. They may be able to sell you just the part you need but you will have to call them. Good Luck.

You can start here:

The problem is you only want one certain piece and all the CF interiors I've seen come as a kit...good luck though...maybe someone else on the board will have a better solution.

EuroRev or buy a new burlwood one and have it wrapped. You may have color and weave matching problems though. Surprising (not) that the dealer can't help

Thanks for the help. I'm looking into those places but it does appear that I have to buy an entire kit. I've emailed them to find out prices. Hopefully someone knows where I might be able to find a single piece, or have it made.

Well it's stock, but not. You see the President's Edition of the E55 was a run of, depending on who you ask, 7 or 25 cars that were made for the regional MBUSA presidents. It came with carbon fiber trim which was not an option you could buy. They were not for sale initially until people sold theirs off (though I also read someplace that it *was* at 15k option, so who knows). Of course they got sold eventually after the presidents didn't want them. All that I know about the President's Edition is stuff I've heard and everyone has a different story (YMMV), but still, it does not look like the carbon fiber interior was an option so MB doesn't sell the trim. I'm not willing to pay $5K to fix a half centimenter crack so it looks like I'm just SOL.

If you just replace one piece, it will not match.

My guess is that you only cracked the clear coat and there are definitely guys out there that can sand it down, reclear it and make it as good as new.

You'll have to buy an entire trim kit. I've looked into this before and nobody offers a certain piece by itself.

What color is your President's Edition CF trim?

You can try John at MAcarbon - 650-489-4415. They specialize in porsche, lambo, and Ferrari but you never know.

I can say they do amazing work as i've bought a couple of pieces from them that the factory does not offer. It matches my factory CF exactly.

maybe they can fix it?

That's awesome, thanks a lot. I'll PM you the VIN. Yeah, I do worry about matching. It's a black CF (actually more like a graphite color). I was starting to become resigned to not being able to fix it. Hopefully Mercedes can hook me up and if not I'll see if I can find someone to refinish it as it is just the covering plastic that's cracked. I'll try John at MAcarbon - 650-489-4415, thanks for the contact. That area code is not too far from me.
