Sirius anybody?
Has anybody successfully install Sirius tuner themselves? I'm getting an '07 US spec comand installed this weekend and I'm interested in getting Sirius later. I wanted to know what the alternatives were to Steve or the dealer.

Just had it installed yesterday. Bought all the parts from local MB dealer and had a pro audio shop install it. 2-3 hours work if you have everything. Cost for all parts from MB is approx $1000 inc tax.

Just had mine done wednesday by a friend in the audio business. He got the instructions from a friend that works at the dealer. Parts guys were real helpful in putting together a complete list based on the Vin# of the car.

Why in god's name does it cost so much to upgrade these things?! They pitch it as a "Satellite Compatible" head unit, then charge you ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS plus labor to install it. More than a COMPLETELY NEW deck that comes with navigation AND Sirius AND Bluetooth AND iPod controls built in. ARGH! One of the things that drives me crazy about these cars...

i use my xm in my other cars...but i balked at the price from the dealer for the sat radio and did the ipod interface instead..{which sucks} as i write this i am having new speakers, amps and subs put into it but still wish i could find a deal for the sat unit... anyone in the bay area know where i can get good pricing for an install and or just the parts?
