Protection
First off I would like to thank you all for a wonderful read over the weekend. I love detective novels. Especially true stories.
I was brought here from the Jag forums where, it seems, this idiot was attempting to convince a few to part with their hard earnt cash. He failed.
The reason I am posting is because I would like a little feedback please.
It seems that a buyer, be it on EBay or a forum, has no protection whatsoever unless they have spunk and a few resources. This brought me a light bulb moment. Why not have an Escrow service act as a go between? Of course there would have to be a minimum amount involved, say $500.00, and once the buyer is satisfied with the goods then the monies will be transferred to the sellers account.
There are a few legalities for me to jump through but I think this is a good idea.
BTW, should any of you wish to check me out right now, please do so.

I used to paint cars for a living, doing minor paint repair. The work was sublet from the dealerships, and we painted on their lot. I used to paint at a Jag dealership in Tysons Corner, Va. That jag S-type-R is pretty damn expensive, and they only make something like 400-500 a year. It's a pretty rare jag. Shouldn't be hard to track it down or the previous owner. I didn't mean to say that it is impossable to own a car like that working at Best Buy. I was just stating the fact, that this guy claims to have owned all these cars. And seeing as how he has scammed a lot of people that we know of, I'm sure there is a ton of people that we don't. I was mearly trying to say that this kid has to have a bunch of money coming in from people he has scammed. Also, he prob has the cars in his parents name, so it doesn't draw to much attention to himself. I'm sorry if I offended you, that wasn't what I ment to do.

Yes you want to get there before the police and news crews to get prime seating for the show. We could film our own "To catch a Criminal..er ah I mean douchebag" episode. "So Billy I see you like the cookies, do you like scamming people on the internet?" Let me read from your transcripts on MBWorld..."It is all DHL's fault, I have 2 sets of wheels we get them from a local dealer, our warehouse screwed up...." What do you have to say about this BILLY?
I think its ready for PRIMETIME!

I called the Brockton Best Buy, the operator told me that there is no Billy Smith employed there.
I called from best buy corporate (spoofcard.com) just in case.

Gbdiver, there are lots of escrow services available, the trick is to make sure the one you pick is legit. I once had an attempted scam run on me whereby the seller wanted to use a well-know & reputable escrow service--the scam was the service would contact ME--of course had I fallen for it, I would have been contacted by an accomplice pretending to be the service.
Really, the moral is for buyers & sellers to use an escrow service.
