This guy just didn’t appreciate the fact that it was a mathematical certainty that he would be caught. It’s the exact same principle as say cheating on your GF/wife – some place, some time, you WILL be caught.
What makes it even more amusing, is that he tried to scam a cross-section of society that arguably has more resources available to them than anyone else.
Perhaps it was just inexperience due to his age – whatever the reason, his biggest mistake was taking on a forum with members that exercise dogged persistence, ruthlessness, and skill, and discipline to get to the point that they can drive a Benz (no offense intended to anyone here who doesn’t drive one!).
BTW - for the record, I didn’t use Photoshop to get those tags. Photoshop is a fine software package and all, but not suitable for the job that was done. I used two other programs to slice through the photos to get the tag numbers. I only used Photoshop to clean up the images and make them presentable for posting on MBWorld.
I should also point out that when you 'white-out' your license plate - it's effectiveness just depends on the software you use and the steps you take within that program. I can't comment on what program the scammer used to generate the white boxes - he just didn't do it correctly. Out of curiosity, I went to the photo threads in our forums - most of you have whited out the tags effectively. FYI!
Side request: whomever is having the tags run on DMV databases, any chance somebody could run a tag for me? I have an issue with a POS here in Atlanta that I will be taking care of myself. Please PM me if you have access to such resources.

This is EPIC. And, it's only getting better by the minute.
I just posted this up on nextleveltalk.com, where I know there are a few MA members.
Still waiting for the first PERSONAL interaction between Billy Jr, and someone who's up on this thread.

Like I said I an earlier post. That jag is a pretty rare car. Only about 400-500 made a year. So i don't think it would be hard to track him down, using just the car alone. If I could search the Mass DMV database and knew what was close to his area. You could try to locate him that way, if he still owned the car.
