New E55 runs like blazes....but!

Runs to 7k on the tach before shifting on hard acceleration. So maybe it has a chip? I've looked for TGB or new pulley and all looks stock. Would a chip raise the RPM shift point that high? How would I tell if it has a chip. Thanks to all.

I guess the easy way would be to do a 4th gear pull on the dyno - if it hits 175+, then you have a chip.

The more involved way would be to ship the ECU to a tuner and have them compare the files side-by-side.

If it goes 7K...then it almost has to have an ECU tune. Anything beyond 6200 is a waste anyways unless you plan on tracking the car.

Is it just in first gear?

Is it always the case or only the first time you nail it?

Or how about you find a nice long stretch of Mexicain highway and stretch her legs a bit... See if you can top 155=modified ECU. Much more fun than a dyno run, and much more certain. Of course only after a full safety check, road check, etc.
