Great times! What tires? They seem really sticky.

Thanks.

I run with BFG drag radials 275X35X18 at about 26 psi (although my best 60' has been at 28 psi). They are GREAT tires! Even with a little spinning, they still turn consistent low 1.7s. I would highly recommend them for this car and this setup.

Thanks Jay!

That is probably the best "sound advice" to give me that extra .013 I need to break the E55 Stage 1 record. That, and of course perfect track conditions. I had always wondered what what the best psi for these cars. Some people I talked to said the cars didn't take too "well" to lower psi's (under 25) due to the weight and setup of the car. However, the physics seems to support the theory and it is certainly worth a shot (larger contact patch, etc.) or 20.

Looks like it will probably have to wait until the fall to break the record though. The weather in upstate NY is now in the 90's!

i'm one of those people. in my testing 28-30 psi gives the best 60ft times. and as a bonus, you don't lose mph on the top end. only way to know for sure is to test yourself.

i hear you, but i can assure you that I weigh more then you and the car sticks like snot if the conditions are optimal. It tracks straight with no wobbling up top.

Mikey's theory is not off in that a tire that is inflated more will have less rolling resistance and give you more MPH, but if youre still spinning and searching for lower ET's this may be the ticket. Yes dont expect to run anything stellar until the fall, weather is horrible now.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the feedback and different thoughts on the launch and opinions on tire pressure. That is what makes this forum so great.

On the next rental (possibly MIR in November) or well prepped test and tune night, I will experiment HEAVILY with tire pressure and see what yields the best results for me. After all, this is the "cheapest mod" of them all and I have already paid for the rims and tires. So, I might as well get my use out of them.
