Porsche 996TT EVOMS GT700 vs my "slightly" modded E55
Do you think I could hang at the drag strip? A buddy of mine just bought a used one. He sounds like he thinks I'd be left holding my jock.
I'll be on 16" CCW Classic's and M/T drag radials. He'll be on street tires (I think Pirellis).
Whatever happens...it will be fun. We just have to find a drag strip close, but the one that is in between is only 1/8 mile.

I'm sorry but you don't really stand a chance. My friend has a GT700 and that thing is FASTTTT. 996TT is AWD so it doesnt really matter if he is using street tires or not

I'll give it a good run anyway...Gives me a chance to see how the VR700 tune and VRP mods hold up against a true sports car...

Then again...I've never taken this car to the limit since I've gotten it back with the VRP cams, VRP Longtube headers, VR700 tune, and VRP I/C upgrade.
Whatever happens...I'll have fun then start bangin on Victor and Vadim's "door" and get more goodies...

The only chance I think I have is if I get a good jump and he is shaky on the launch and/or misses a gear shift. Also...if we end up on the 1/8 mile track we might stay even...any longer then he would have an advantage.

did I miss a posting? How's the car drive? Like it, love it, hate it. Sorry to be a little OT but I've just realised that you've had your car back together for some time now...

The idle now with the new camshafts, longtube headers, and straight pipe has a way of turning people's heads, esp. at start up. It takes about a minute or two for the idle to smooth out to a low and steady rumble...at speed it's ridiculously loud. Something I love...

I am loving it...the exhaust note is over the top and the passing power when I get on it at 70mph is so much stronger...I used to downshift from D to 4th when I wanted to make an aggressive pass, but now I just throttle it and GAME on... My car always had power down low but now the power range seems more broad.

I know what you mean about turning heads. What rmp's are you idling at? I guess from your earlier post about opening her up means that you've no dyno numbers...
Can't wait for your track meet with the tt...

After the idle smooths out it'll sit at 600rmp with a nice steady rumble.

Lee/AMG you guys are fucckking killing me.
Good, bad or ugly......post up some actual trap speeds and et's. Are the new VRP packages the real deal?
Is it the leap that takes you to 126-128 trap speeds and low 11's/high 10's?
Until you guys prove me wrong................. I still say that ecu/headers/pulley is all you need. I hope I'm way off base but I'm not holding my breath.
Finally, butt dynos do not count so please come clean with some real numbers.
Thanks

Rock...I'll probably do a run before I run with the EVOMS so I'll post those timeslips. The first runs I ever did at the track were in January as a K2 plus VRP TB and VRP airbox. Looking at those timeslips my best runs as a newbie I ended up with:
60' 1.876 (3rd run)
1/8 7.829 (3rd run)
1/8 @ 93.19 (2nd run)
1/4 12.038 (3rd run)
1/4 @116.98 (2nd run)
As a newbie I did a couple of things WRONG...
1. I forgot to heat up the 18" drag radials (I ran Nittos at that time).
2. My launch and subsequently the 60' could be a whole lot better.
3. I lifted off the throttle just before I crossed the 1/4mile line.
This time I'll be obviously be running with a bit more power, but also I'll run with CCW Classic 16" drag rims and Mickey Thompson ET drag radials (thanks RFlow) for the run. The better launch and not lifting the throttle can only come from practice. The only other x-factor is the heat and humidity...which has been a biatch lately.

With the power that the VRP700 makes with a good launch should put you around 10.xx to 11.1x and a 130mph trap speed. If you can put that power to the ground it should be a good race. Remember you are about 600-800lbs heavier so even you lose by a car length it's not that bad. Good luck

I am sorry but you don't stand a chance unless the driver can't drive his car. My friend had a Evoms 750 and it ran 10.28@138 and would smoke my 550 whp E55 all day long. NOS would not even solve it. Just enjoy the race but don't expect to win.

You would need close to 750 rwhp+ on an e55 to trap 138 mph. It would take a 250 shot of nos, which would probably require fuel system upgrades and strictly race gas.
