Did you ask the same question on the M5 Board? If it was you, then what happened to the E39?

Nice to hear from you again. AMG prices are dropping like rushing water over Niargra Falls. IMHO, V-8 cars in the next couple of years are going to take continued hits because of unfavorable press (V-8's are bad, green is good) and rising gas prices. That's not to say there won't be a market for them but it will cost more to own and operate them due to a shrinking labor force trained to work on them. You should have kept your E39, it is a future collectible.

for me, i could care less what the resale value is. i don't plan to sell mine anytime soon. everytime i even consider selling it, i just take a short drive to remind me why i have this car in the first place. mine will be title clear soon so i don't have negative equity.
even if i ate a lost in the future, its worth every penny to me for all the smiles its put on my face kicking everyone's a$$! That's priceless!

Exactly. Why not enjoy it when you can. You can't take your money with you....

Was thinking of trading my 05 for an 07 SL55 but my dealer talked me out of it. Said the SL is nothing but trouble and the E55 is a much better car. I was shocked! They have an CLK63 Black Series that I'm considering. Wow!
