Cracked Python tube.

Cracked Python tube.
Has anyone else had there Python tubes crack? Mine cracked along the seam on the side that meets up with the air inlets by the radiator. I thought carbon fiber was stronger than plastic. My installer noticed when he installed the 80m TB a few weeks ago.
Vic is checking with manufacture to see if they'll replace it.

Brian,
This is the first one that has been reported to crack.
I sent an email to the manufacturer last night once I got off the phone with Curt and they replied this morning and said they will replace it for you.
Let me know if its a driver's side or passenger side. I'll get one and have it shipped out to you.

I know at least one of mine has cracked as well, although the crack was still pretty "short"; maybe 1/2" to 1" tops. Same location, underside, along the seam on the intake/radiator side. I'll pull them both tonight & check 'em again to see if it's grown & if there is a crack on the other side.

I pulled mine, passenger side is fine, but the drivers side does have a crack about 1.5" long on the bottom, intake/radiator side.
I thought it was smaller (as posted above) but didn't measure it before, so I'm not sure if it's growing, or the same. There's also some evidence of "delamination"/clouding/yellowing of the clear coat around the crack, but I assume that's from the crack, not the cause of it.
I'll have to borrow a decent camera (or get a new power supply for mine) to get a good pic; my cell phone pic sucks bad enough that you can barely make out the carbon fiber, let alone a crack.

Don't quote me on this but I'm thinking that a crack in an intake tube will allow you to flow even greater amounts of air into the TB.
Greater airflow = more HP.......... and more HP means a faster car..........right?
No cracks in mine but if someone can show me increased trap speeds with cracked tubes............... I have a hammer standing by.

Either I suck or my camera does, but it's hard to get up close focus. Here's a picture of the crack area; the most obvious thing is the delamination area spreading from the crack. Other than the delamination, the crack in mine doesn't appear to be as severe as the OP's; mine's running around 1.25" long & not "gaping", but it does go through to the other side.
I'm not sure where the OP took his picture, but he managed a lot less glare than I did.
