Jody your car looks great!
Does anybody know how much hp the stock internals on the 335 can hold? Also, how is the 335xi? My little brother wants to get a 335 and we're not sure whether to go with the i or the xi. Obviously, we're gonna use it for street racing so I'm figuring that if the awd ain't that much of a power zapper, it might be best on the streets. We're also thinking about putting some laughing gas in there so I want to see if a 400bhp 335 could handle a 100 shot of n2o. Has it been done? And yeah, this is an MB forum but you guys know your *****. If I post this on an e90 forum I'll probably get "y0 ur shyz will b 0uttttt s0n" so I'd rather ask for advice here.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

The one you raced must have been very lightly modded. There is a women with a modded 335 coupe that runs consistant 12.20's on street tires at my local drag strip. The car looks and sounds stock (on idle or normal driving). Her husband claims it only has ECU, intake, headers/exhaust work with stock turbos and blow off valves. He also claims she ran a 12.09 in the car early this spring, but I can not verify that, but I can vouch for seeing at least 6 runs in the 12.20's. I am hoping to line up with her very soon, should be a real close one, unless she pulls another sub 12.10 out of her hat.

There aren't upgraded turbos available domestically yet for the N54 engine (supposedly Racing Dynamics / RDSport has a turbo upgrade but no one has seen it yet). Also, with the new ECU unit (MSD81 with PROGMAN V29.2 update), the ECU is supposedly monitoring a lot of parameters to determine if the car has been tuned by a flash or a piggyback or not. There is a lot of speculation out there right now because apparently dealership are cracking down hard on tuning the N54 engine with cars getting flagged.

here we go again..
the n54 is a great engine.. but lets clarify all these assumptions.
The only good race I have seen of a 55K car vs N54 was the one recorded with a guy running a V2 Vishnu, FMIC, DP's, Exhaust, Intake, and few other little mods.
He ran against a black E55 with 20's for 1, it had an ASP pulley, and a Code3 heat exchanger.
As we all know.. that car dyno'd less than stock on hp and gain a few lbs of tq.
In other cases.. some 55k with pulley and no ECU gain 40RWTQ and loose 10-20 RWHP. (search ASP and LET tune)
back to my point...
a full bolt on 335 holding 15psi was able to pull a E55 making stock power with 20's from a roll... but it was not by much.
and if you watch the video.. it was only 1 car length until they had to shut it down. There was a car in front of the E55.
lessons learned.. E55 with pulley needs a ECU badly.. and 335i with all the mods available was able to edge out the kill.
I'm sure with a ECU on the E55 and V3 on the 335i.. it could interesting.
