ipod question

will any newer ipod work with the integration kit? i'm thinking of buying a couple of shuffles to permanently leave in the car. i tried an older ipod (maybe 2nd generation) and the car doesn't see it.

My 30GB video Ipod works perfectly with my ipod kit. I do wish you could control it from the command screen to give more flexibilty in controlling the Ipod. Using the controls on the steering wheel is seriously lacking...

i'm really curious if a shuffle will work. i have a video and a touch, but i don't feel like moving them in and out of each car as my kids like to watch videos. i'd like to buy a shuffle for each car and leave them there.
