Smoking an R8 is no great feat. R8 is in the price range of a Porsche TT, so thats what it should be compared to, no? Well, Top Gear feels that it should be compared to the normal Carrera. Pretty sad what you get for that price. The car isn't made for drivers, it's made for collectors and people who want to be noticed IMO.
I in no way mean that the E63 is a bad car, I'm saying that the R8 is a bad car. And yes, E63=E55-Roids.
"Nothing of this price generates this kind of excitement around our offices"- I really expected more from Car and Driver.

Ehhh,my 11.95@118.32 to Enzoms 11.77@118.69 is such a HUGE difference...Pretty sure the E63 holds the stock record for E55/E63 1/8mi mph at 92.96.....and my best mph of 118.53 from that day is worlds away from 118.69.They are very close performance wise IMO,both excellent cars.
Oh,btw...those of you that posted the E55 is so much better,what have YOUR PERSONAL E55's run at the track when they were stock?Don't go by Enzoms time,lets hear what you ran

63 guys don't fret, I have run my BS 12.19, with a 40 mph crosswind on the street Corsa's. Saturday I am attending the Midwest drag meet ChicagoX put together at US 41 drag strip. With the addition of the VRP CF Large capacity airbox I bolted on this morning, and some weight savings I found I should be able to get her down to a 12 flat or maybe even get into the 11's. That's not the only suprise I have in store, I should also have my new one off custom made Forge Line wheels with Mickey Thompson slickes mounted on them. I think the 63 boys are going to be well represented this weekend. This pig is going to go sub 11:50 if the conditions are right.
Oldgixxer; your car is movin out! 11.95 STOCK....DAMN! My car is modded and I would be exstatic to break into the 11's. You must be able to drive like a mad man, I may have you make a couple passes in my ride in November at MIR. By the way is that MIR East vs West thing still gonna happen?
