Supercharger cut out / loss of power .
Ive had me W211 E55 komp for a few weeks. I started getting used to the power last week and gave it a couple of hard runs on a bit of local dual carrageway/Highway within three attempts I experienced a loss of power. I read though this forum and found the most common faults to be:
1. I/c pump (secondary water pump)
2. Divert valve stuck (diverts water/coolent away from the supercharger)
3. Air locks in the coolent (badly serviced)
4. ECU malfunction
5. Incorrect coolent
6. Supercharger dead (self explaintary)
I went to Mercedes (who I supply non Mercedes car parts too) and they imidiately told me is WAS the i/c pump (without inspection). I had it changed (not by merc) and no more problems. I am sure alot of people know this but I just wanted to make it clear for anyone with this problem, its more likely to be the pump than anything else.

Your right, I went to GOODWOOD festival of speed on the weekend befor last and went straight to the Mercedes stand. I spoke to the "top" E class tech that was there, he had no idea. But when I went to the dealer, I went straight round the back to the workshops and asked the techs myself. When I ordered the part they had 3! on the shelf. If you think they only fit the 55 engine thats an incredible amount to stock.....

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. The SA told me that "the pump" was replaced. At the time I safely assumed it was the usual I/C pump. But on a closer look at the service invoice, it's stated that 3 things were replaced. 1) coolant pump 2) fuse element 3) circulation pump - low temperature water circuit. all 3 parts were replaced. Are any of those the I'C pump? My car feels more consistent now after hard runs, but my feel is that it still should be pulling harder.

This is a classic problem where much has been discussed here...
Want to solve the problem real quick?
(1) Isolate the cooling circuit.
(2) Add an extra pump to increase flow.
(3) Add a secondary radiator to the ic circuit.
The heat soak and s/c shut down problem will go away.
Plenty of companies around offering this solution if you don't want to get your hands dirty...

Do you know if there is a setup where I could install the Code Three Performance Heat Exchanger and keep it seperate from the rest of the cooling system in the car?
Thanks,
Josh
Never mind, I found it.
