2005 AMG E55
Profile of an E55 owner/driver

curious... what is the typical profile of an e55 driver/owner?

I'll start:

33 male, married, 4 young kids (10 and younger), 6 bedroom/5 bath home w/ 3 car garage and pool (nice home but not lavishing), self-employed executive producer (bread and butter)/5 retail sushi take-out locations part-owner (potential growth but doesn't make a lot)/forex trader (estimated risk taker even thought i have lost 75% of my account in 3 years), i just make over a 6 digit salary, family trips once per year to disney with kids who go to private schools (tuition sucks but its better than our public school system), wife works as a preschool teacher but not really neccessary. I live comfortably, not lavishing, my debt is minimal, i have no clue about designer clothes as i prefer to wear shorts and a t-shirt daily. Slacks and a collared shirt are only required on sundays for church and business meetings for me. i am pretty slow to anger and very laid back.

My E55 brings me sanity when i drive alone and reminds me how it feels to be young and reckless for seconds at a time. Although i have the urge to race and roast everyone on the road, i can humbley laugh inside at everyones naiveness of whats beneath my hood. my e55 doesn't provide a lack other might think i am missing.

what's your profile?

05 e55
21 Male, engaged about to get married, work for my dad in real estate business and management, make almost 6 figures a year, no kids, went to a community college for 2 years, in to designer clothes, dress casual everyday, except sundays for church or meetings then i need a suit.

I love the e55. Iv wanted to sell it lately but everytime i get in it and give it some gas i reconsider my decision...

38, male, married, 8yr old daughter, cat. 4 bedroom/4 bathroom cookie cutter subdivision home. Mid 6 figures, insurance broker, partner. Like to have fun more than work. Contractor client base, so smart casual at the office unless an important function. I can type fast without looking at the keyboard. Hate suits, more comfortable in jeans & tshirt. Pretty immature and irresponsible. Love my cars, love speed, love weed. Somewhat of a deviant , and definately a ***** disturber . Oh yeah, adorable and cute! Have raced my bike at the track. Speed thrills, turned a 2.5hr ride into a 1hr ride, turned a 10hr ride into a 7hr ride. Want to race the Beast at the straight track (will happen this summer).
What the Beast does for me...puts a great big huge on my face and makes me giggle like a little kid.

After reading my post again, i thought the same thing. I saw a typical post in the S-Class threads which says typical owners make over 300K per year. From my standards, that crazy! I bought cpo'd 6 months ago for 50% of retail value. Most people assume I am original owner without asking since it is fairly new but i'm the 1st to admit that i could never afford it brand new in my current position. I think I look younger than my age (asian blood) and many assume i'm a young punk driving a car daddy bought at a first impression.

I did not start this thread to see who's pecker is the biggest. If that was the case it would be in the SLR thread.

This is what i ASSUME a typical e55 owner profile would be:

28-50 male, 80k+ salary, professional college educated career (esq, dr, etc..) or self employed business owner, family guy since he needs extra for the kids or thinking ahead for a planned family, thats why he drives a 4 door instead a coupe.

Have you ever wondered about taking out the 6-disc changer and making it the ultimate "stash" spot? I've always wondered if a fellow wacky tobacky smoker had ever done that

Anywho, I'm a 21 year-old student at Indiana majoring in environmental management, unemployed besides bs'ing with the stock market. I'll wear designer stuff here and there but am most comfortable in a t-shirt and shorts w/ sandals. I'm really into music & photography and most of all my E. I'm studying in Florence for 3.5 months starting in September so I'm going to try and have as much fun with my "girl" before I leave her for awhile

26 years old, student. I work full time for EnerSys installing batteries, and I am majoring in Physics. I do not make that much money and I rent a room. I'm single, and for the record I think paying $700 for a USED steering wheel is completely absurd

Oh....Great idea! I've been wondering where the best place to keep some herb would be. I don't even use the CD player, so hiding there would work. Stash hidden behind the James Bond dash!

I believe everything except the "own" part.

Me???.....I'm a 6'5" Haitian male with a small member and thus a bad attitude. My first wife abandoned me for an excommunicated Catholic priest............... While my second wife mysteriously died before she left me for a guy with a CL600.

I am playful, outgoing and I like to bowl on weekends. I love small dogs and enjoy taking walks in the park with my Bichon Frise.

I like driving my E55 because it makes me forget about the small package I'm packing.

As far as money...........well, I am driving an E55.

Why not just use the little box by the glove box? Isn't that what its for? Or put it in an airtight bottle and slip it into your little seat compartment.

I've used both of those, but I'd feel more comfortable with something a little more hidden. I've been pulled over three times in six months. I've always been stopped a lot, but nothing like this! Last thing I need is something like that! It's only there for special occasions (don't wantcha to think that's why I'm always relaxed ), but better safe than sorry.

Really great to see all the youngsters here into FAST 4 door sedans.

I'm an ancient believer in the capitalist system... mostly retired. Evidently not as good a capitalist as those on the V12 forum, but I'm into enjoying now... not hustling for the $.

Life long tinkerer, rodder, and racer.

Life is good.

40s, married, no kids. Both wife and I earn well. Have german shepards. Love toys..guns, antiques, fast cars and bikes. Raced superbikes when younger and ran triathlons..both screwed up my back, knees and hips so I can't do either anymore. Now amateur bodybuilder which strangely enough does not bother conditions listed above. Have several degrees, as well does wife, who has proudly served our country in Iraq and is scheduled to go back at end of this year. I am executive for high technology firm, wife is in sales for high technology medical. Both of us wonder where the hell the time is going....
