New Key Fob needed
Is it true the only way to get a spare Key gob with Key GO is to go to dealer for them to do a diagnostic check?
I was told they need to do the scan so they know which number spare key this would be for my specific car (bought used 1 month ago and I dont have a spare). This would mean spending the $150 for the diagnostic and then the $$ for the new key fob/Key GO...

That is not what they told me at the dealership here in Hawaii,...Thing is, there is only 1 Mercedes Dealership....
Would make sense that just give the VIN and get a new Key Go fob, but they want me to schedual a Service appt, charge me for the appt, and for the Key Go
too...
This make sense and anyone else with similiar experience or is this bull?

Anyhow, talk to the GM and they should get you a second key from when they sold you the car.

I'm also in Hawaii... ordered my dad's keyless go spare by calling over the phone. Took less than ten days. Was programed when I went in to pick it up. All I had to do was Re-Fax the registration at the time of order and confirm when going in.

All you need is to provide your VIN number. They will order it for you base on your VIN number. If they need to schedule a service then thats a BS!

I ordered at the dealer and they mailed it to me. Just needed my VIN.
They actually ordered the wrong one (no keyless go). They replaced it with the right key and let me keep both!
